Labeling
Systems
From automated label application and print-and-apply systems to fully integrated labeling solutions — precision, reliability, and customization tailored to your production needs.
Label Any Product, at Any Speed, with Any Data
Automated labeling systems apply pre-printed or print-and-apply labels to products and packaging at high speed — delivering ingredients lists, safety warnings, barcodes, regulatory information, and branding with precision and consistency. Labeling is the most common product identification method across food, pharmaceutical, logistics, and cannabis industries.
Chicago Coding Systems designs, builds, and integrates custom labeling solutions — from semi-automatic tabletop applicators to fully automated high-speed conveyor systems — from our facility in St. Charles, Illinois. We work with industry-leading brands including LabelMill, Walco, SATO, Zebra, and Epson to deliver the right system for your production line, backed by 24/7 technical support.
Labeling Technologies We Integrate
Apply-Only Labeling
Applies pre-printed labels using pressure-sensitive or blown-on application. The fastest method for pre-printed labels on uniform products.
CCS BRANDS: LABELMILL
Print-and-Apply (P&A)
Prints variable data — barcodes, dates, serial numbers — and immediately applies the finished label. Eliminates pre-printed label inventory.
CCS BRANDS: SATO • ZEBRA • LABELMILL
Top-and-Bottom Labeling
Dual-head systems that apply labels to both top and bottom surfaces simultaneously. Common for food trays, clamshells, and flat packages.
IDEAL FOR: FOOD TRAYS • CLAMSHELLS • FLAT PACKS
Wraparound Labeling
For cylindrical products like bottles, cans, syringes, and vials. CCS builds custom fixtures for challenging container geometries including the LM3612 syringe labeling system.
FEATURED: LM3612 SYRINGE LABELING SYSTEM
Semi-Automatic Tabletop
For hand-pack stations and short production runs. The LabelMill LM1012TTS features fast changeover and handles large or small products. Ideal for startups and contract packagers.
CCS PRODUCT: LABELMILL LM1012TTS
Color Label Printing
On-demand full-color label printing with the Epson ColorWorks series — CW-C4000, CW-C6000, CW-C6500, and CW-C8000. Designed as a color upgrade to black-and-white thermal transfer.

Labeling Systems FAQ
What is a print-and-apply labeling system?
A print-and-apply system prints variable data (barcodes, dates, serial numbers) onto blank label stock and immediately applies the finished label to your product or package. This eliminates the need to maintain pre-printed label inventory and allows on-demand label production directly on the production line.
What types of label applicators does CCS offer?
CCS offers apply-only systems, print-and-apply labelers, top-and-bottom dual-head applicators, wraparound labelers for cylindrical products, and semi-automatic tabletop systems for hand-pack stations. We work with LabelMill, SATO, Zebra, Epson, and Walco to build systems matched to your line speed and product geometry.
Can CCS label syringes and small-diameter containers?
Yes. CCS recently launched the LM3612 Custom Syringe Labeling System in partnership with LabelMill — purpose-built for applying high-precision flag labels to syringes and vials where surface area is at a premium. The system meets FDA quality control benchmarks and supports both human and robotic interaction.
Do you provide label design software?
Yes. CCS is a TEKLYNX partner and provides Codesoft barcode label design software for creating, managing, and deploying labels across multiple printers. We also help integrate label management into your existing production workflow through our software integration services.
What label materials work in cold storage or harsh environments?
CCS designs labels with adhesives and face stocks proven for cold storage down to -40°F, high-moisture environments, chemical exposure, and outdoor weathering. We test every material against your specific conditions before installation to ensure long-term adhesion and readability.
